Abstract

General Background Generation Z is characterized by intensive smartphone use and increasing dependence on fast food, which raises concerns about long-term dietary habits and health awareness. Specific Background Digital food platforms and mobile applications have become central to how this generation selects, orders, and consumes meals, creating both challenges and opportunities for healthier food engagement. Knowledge Gap However, existing studies and applications have largely focused on food delivery and consumption behavior, with limited attention to mobile tools that actively guide users toward home cooking and reduced fast-food reliance. Aims This study aims to design and develop an Android-based Anti–Fast Food Recipe Application that provides recipes, nutritional information, and cooking guidance tailored to Generation Z users. Results The application was successfully developed using a prototype-based method, producing a functional system with recipe browsing, calorie information, and interactive cooking features that align with user preferences. Novelty The novelty of this study lies in integrating health-oriented recipe guidance into a mobile application specifically designed around the digital habits and lifestyle patterns of Generation Z. Implications The application demonstrates how mobile-based culinary platforms can serve as practical tools to encourage healthier eating practices and reduce dependency on fast food among young digital-native users.
